HousingPortal.ca (“we”, “us”) provides free Canadian real estate calculators, guides, and market reports. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

Calculator inputs. The numbers you enter into our tools (income, purchase price, mortgage details, and so on) are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or see them.

Usage data. Like most websites, we collect anonymous usage information such as the pages you visit, the approximate region you visit from, your browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through Google Analytics, described below.

Correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and address only for as long as needed to reply.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your name, financial account details, or other sensitive personal information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. We use them for two purposes:

Third parties we work with

• Google Analytics and Google AdSense (Google LLC) for analytics and advertising. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare hosts and serves the site. Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase stores the market data behind our reports. It does not receive any information about you.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the service providers listed above.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to government, lender, and industry websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Children

HousingPortal.ca is intended for adults researching real estate. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
